Join us for our Membership Breakfast: 2025 Iowa Talent Poll results on Fri., Feb. 6th, 8:30-10 AM, at Hotel Julien Dubuque, presented by Dustin Miller, Executive Director of Iowa Chamber Alliance.

Dustin brings nearly two decades of experience in government affairs, working across federal, state, tribal, and local levels on economic development, infrastructure, and workforce policy. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Iowa Chamber Alliance and has spent years advocating on behalf of Iowa employers at the State Capitol. Dustin will walk us through the 2025 Iowa Talent Poll results—sharing workforce challenges, talent attraction, and retention, and why these insights matter for Dubuque businesses as we compete for talent and plan for future growth.

Iowa has the lowest growth rate of any state in the United States since 1900. This slow population growth has created an acute talent problem for economic growth as the labor shortage impedes attraction and expansion opportunities.

Thus, the Iowa Chamber Alliance (ICA) decisively targeted Talent Attraction as the organization's top priority. ICA created the Iowa Talent Poll in 2022 to better understand our state's strengths and weaknesses and what working age Iowans find attractive about living here. The results from the state-wide poll provides valuable information necessary in our efforts to keep and attract talent to Iowa.

The Dubuque Area Chamber hosts Membership Breakfasts monthly with the intent of educating and informing our members on an array of topics to help them in their business growth and development.
